Gran Turismo 7 will be ready for release on PlayStation 4 “in about a year or two,” according to series creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

The latest game in the series, Gran Turismo 6, will be released on December 6 for PlayStation 3. Fans have asked Polyphony for a simple next-gen port, but Yamauchi has stated that the next-gen version of Gran Turismo will more than likely become a sequel.

“The PlayStation 4 game which we’ll likely call GT7 will be done in about a year or two, I think, and I think the community aspect’s going to be vital there as well.” Yamauchi told Famitsu.
