You can try Yoku's Island Express, one of 2018's best games, for free

We never technically reviewed Yoku’s Island Express, but I played it, and I think it’s one of the best games of the year. If you haven’t played it, you must hate feeling joy. Or maybe you just never heard of it? Either way, you can now experience the magic for yourself, and it won’t cost you a dime.

Yoku’s Island Express is now offering a free demo on all platforms—Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Just check out the digital stores for your preferred platform and download that sucker now.

The game is basically pinball mixed with a puzzle game that also includes light Metroidvania elements such as unlocking new abilities that will let you access new areas, all portrayed in a beautiful hand-painted style that gives Rayman a run for his money. It doesn’t sound like it should work, but like most things that are magic, it doesn’t have to make sense. You just have to believe.

If you still don’t believe, you can watch us play Yoku’s Island Express on our stream replay. Oh, yeah: EGM’s streaming again, on a (mostly) daily basis. You can now watch us and tell us how much we suck at games live, since that seems to be a favorite pastime of our viewers.

Michael Goroff has been gaming for almost three decades. He's a lover of all games and systems, but he mostly plays Xbox. That being said, if he's a fanboy, he's a fanboy for the game industry as a whole. Spit white-hot fanboy hate at him, trash talk his Gold II rank on Rocket League, or maybe just send him a cordial hello on Twitter @gogogoroff.
