Players will be able to sing along in Guitar Hero Live, developer FreeStyleGames announced today in a new trailer for the game.
“One of the cool things about Guitar Hero was that it had singing, and that’s the same in Guitar Hero Live. You can plug a microphone in, a note highway is going to come across the top of the screen and your friend’s going to be able to join in and sing their heart out,” the game’s creative director, Jamie Jackson, explains.
Judging by the brief glimpse of gameplay in the trailer, singing will function almost identically to past iterations and rival Rock Band, with the singer receiving their own separate score and note streak for staying on pitch.
A microphone peripheral won’t be included with Guitar Hero Live’s initial release, and it is unknown as of right now whether singing will be available in both of Guitar Hero Live‘s main game modes, but the trailer suggests that the feature will at least be available with Guitar Hero TV.
Guitar Hero Live launches for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS4, and Wii U on October 20th.
