The Legend of Zelda

A recently discovered glitch in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild could offer players a new way to explore beneath the waves.

Videos posted to Twitter by gamer Swiffy22 demonstrate what can happen when the player gets knocked back into a body of water. After being struck into the water—either by a bomb or an enemy attack—the player can stand up on the water bed and walk around as though they are on land. Two videos of the glitch were posted by Swiffy22 in which they test what actions a player can get away with while submerged.

To be clear, this doesn’t appear to work 100 percent of the time. We’ve tested it out in-game ourselves and were unable to replicate it in a different body of water, so it’s not entirely clear what causes the glitch to occur. Still, given that Swiffy was able to pull it off multiple times means it’s not just a one-off goof.

Players are also discovering and taking advantage of plenty of more legitimate tricks in Breath of the Wild, too. Two of these tricks picked up by gamers include using boulders to fast travel around the map and using chickens to do their fighting for them.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now for the new Nintendo Switch as well as for the Wii U.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild glitch reveals what’s beneath the water

This Breath of the Wild glitch makes up for the lack of iron boots in the game.
