Zombie-filled top-down shoot ‘em up Dead Nation arrives on PS Vita tomorrow

Posted on April 14, 2014 AT 11:55am

Developer Housemarque’s PS3 downloadable top-down shooter Dead Nation will arrive on PlayStation Vita tomorrow, April 15, Sony announced today.

A Vita version of Dead Nation was first announced during last year’s E3. Development is being handled by Climax Studios, the company responsible for bringing the zombie-filled top-down shoot ‘em up to PlayStation 4 as Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition. Like on PS3, the Dead Nation’s vita port will boast single-player missions and two-player co-op support through both local ad-hoc connections and online.

Dead Nation originally debuted on PSN for PS3 November 2010. The Vita version will cost $7.99, while the Road of Devastation DLC on Vita will be $3.39. The release will support cross-buy, however, so anyone who already purchased Dead Nation, or the DLC for that matter, can download it on Vita for free.

Dead Nation feels right at home on PS Vita, and everyone who has seen it so far has really enjoyed it,” Rogan Ogden, associate producer at port specialist XDEV Studio Europe, wrote in a post on the PlayStation Blog. “I can’t wait to hear what all of you think once you get your hands on it.”
