Zynga Creates New Social Gaming Network, Launches Real-Time Multiplayer
Posted on June 26, 2012 AT 12:00pm
At the ongoing Zynga Unleashed 2012 press conference in San Francisco, one of the world’s largest social gaming companies has officially announced that they’re making a social network for their already-socially networked social games. Whew.
That network will be called “Zynga With Friends” and touts a special set of features specifically aimed the developer’s fan base.
Accessible on Facebook, iOS, and Android, anyone playing Zynga-brand games will be able to chat, interact, and view the histories of other people in the network. Additionally, real-time multiplayer will also be supported for games connected in the Zynga With Friends network, with Bubble Safari being the first title to test the service.
One would think this means that Zynga partner “Zynga With Friends“—formerly known as Words With Friends developer NewToy—is due for a name change. Either that, or else the company and the separate branding is just absorbed whole.
