Lawsuits and rapidly-declining stock regardless, the show must go on at Zynga, where the social gaming company has launched a sequel to their most successful title yet. It’s Farmville 2, now available to play on Facebook.

It’s likely that the company is banking on this game to turn around some of their financial troubles, especially since Zynga now faces a collection of lawsuits due to insider trading and copyright infringement claims, with the latter being thrown at them by rival gaming developer/publisher EA.

According to USA Today, this new Farmville will be a more “organic” experience, where corps, animals, and manure work in harmony to raise the profile and sustainability of your virtual farm:

“Your crops produce food for your animals. Your animals produce fertilizer for your crops and your crops and animals together produce goods that you can sell to grow and enhance your farm,” [Zynga vice president Tim LeTourneau] says. “It’s this interconnected circle of life essentially that is at the fingertips of the player.”

Other gameplay features involve easier crop management, with players only having to scroll over items and produce, rather than needing to click individually on each selectable icon or object.

It’s probably fair to say that Zynga’s fortunes may live or die on Farmville 2, especially if their inter-company issues continue to hamper finances and create more staffing problems. Considering that their stock hasn’t budged from a sub-$3 low point in the last month, someone at Zynga’s San Francisco headquarters has to be sweating a little bit.
