THE BUZZ: While it might not be the timeliest of releases, Nintendo of America will be bringing the Wii re-release of Pikmin 2 to the States.

EGM’s TAKE: So, New Play Control! Pikmin 2 came out three years ago in both Japan and Europe. Three years ago. Three years.

Better late than never, though, right? If you’re looking for something to get you pumped for the release of Pikmin 3 for the Wii U, then why not go back to the previous chapter of the series?

In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, it’s been announced that the New Play Control version of Pikmin 2 will indeed finally be making it our way. The New Play Control series brings beloved GameCube games to the Wii, but with update control options that make full use of the Wii Remote.

New Play Control! Pikmin 2 will be released in North America this June.
