Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation Dev Diary Discusses Design Choices

Ubisoft has released a new developer diary for its handheld entry into the Assassin’s Creed franchise known as Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, discussing the reasoning behind design decisions such as a female main character and new weapons.
The Vita exclusive is set in Louisiana during the American Revolution and stars a female assassin called Aveline, who will have access to new weapons such as a blow pipe and whip. “In terms of the scale of Liberation, we wanted to replicate the console experience on a handheld, so you will find that it’s as large and deep as any of the other console entries in the franchise,” said Corey May, lead scriptwriter for the Assassin’s Creed series.
Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation is due out October 30 in the U.S. and October 31 in Europe, the same day as Assassin’s Creed III.
