Batman: Arkham City Wii U Has Shiny Bat Pecs, Several New Toys
Posted on October 9, 2012 AT 03:55pm
Batman’s new outfit in his first Wii U title is a little too shiny for our tastes—like, Joel Schumacher shiny—but the new ways to use all his gadgets is still intriguing. Warner Bros. thinks so too, judging by this trailer.
As shown in the footage below, the developers have crammed every possible Bat-tool into the Wii U GamePad as they can, utilizing it in a variety of features and situations like these:
- Reading the in-game map
- Tagging waypoints
- Decrypting security panels
- Swapping out weapons
- Upgrading abilities and attacks
That’s just a few of them, but the implementation of all these tricks is sure to drive quite a few sales when Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition launches alongside the Wii U this holiday.
What remains to be seen is just how well it does as one of the few “triple-A” action titles on Nintendo’s new console. Supposedly, the game’s strong reputation on the PS3 and Xbox 360 circuit will drive more sales than normal.
Speaking of which, Warner Interactive president Martin Tremblay has confirmed that BACAE (?) is in fact a Wii U launch title. That confirmation comes by way of MCV, who interviewed the executive earlier today.
