Video interview with new head of Xbox Phil Spencer on the future of the Xbox One

Posted on April 4, 2014 AT 12:13pm

On the heels of last week’s announcement of his promotion to head of the Microsoft’s Xbox division, Phil Spencer took time to do a quick video interview about what he now hopes to accomplish.

While Spencer doesn’t get into any specifics on what changes he might hope to bring—no talk of Xbox One price cuts or next-gen reboots of Voodoo Vince just yet—he does speak to the overall direction he hopes to head the division in. That direction? One that better listens to consumers and fans, and which remembers that the key focus of the Xbox One is–and should be—games.

If you want to hear more of Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb talk to Phil Spencer about his new role, Spencer will be on the next episode of Hryb’s “Major Nelson” podcast. It should be up later today, so if you’re interested, check our Hryb’s website, which I’ve conveniently linked to below.
