Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

THE BUZZ: The Call of Duty franchise owned Xbox Live in 2011. According to a recent post made by Major Nelson, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 tops Xbox Live’s top 20 most played games on this year. Other games made the list, but as you can see, Activision’s perennial franchise has other entries scattered through out the list.

EGM’s TAKE: Call of Duty: Black Ops topping this list isn’t a surprise. But we’re a little shock to still see World at World and regular plain old Call of Duty 4 on there. Anyone that is still doubting the staying power of the Call of Duty franchise might want to eat a bit of crow right about now.
