Dante’s Brother Invades DmC In ‘Vergil’s Downfall’ DLC

When Capcom and Ninja Theory’s new take on the Devil May Cry franchise hits early next year, Dante won’t be the only main character coming along for the ride. Today, it was announced that his twin brother—Vergil—will also be available via DLC.
In the upcoming Vergil’s Downfall DLC for DmC: Devil May Cry, players will get a separate portion of the game that focuses on Vergil, one featuring “an all new storyline with fresh gameplay including new weapons, combos, enemies, and locations” according to Capcom.
Vergil’s Downfall will hit soon after the launch of the game, and will cost you 720 MS Points via Xbox Live, or $8.99 from the PlayStation Store. However—if you pre-order DmC at either GameStop here in the States, or EB Games in Canada, you’ll get the DLC for free once it’s released.
I’m not sure which I like less: the announcement of additional single-player DLC content before a game is even released, or the fact that that DLC will be a pre-order bonus from only one retailer. I miss the days when I could buy a game knowing I was getting everything there was for it for my $60—and I miss the days when I didn’t have to only buy games from specific retailers to not miss out on stupid pre-order nonsense. I know Capcom isn’t alone in causing us to now live in this world, but I still don’t like when it continues to happen.
