THE BUZZ: While thought to be in development limbo, Metal Gear Solid: Rising is now Metal Gear: Rising, and is alive and well. Hideo Kojima was on hand at the Spike VGAs to announce to the world that his latest opus has been rebooted and rebuilt from the ground up. Accompanied by a new subtitle “Revengeance” and a new developer in Platinum Games (MadWorld). The trailer showed off gameplay familiar to anyone that saw the first reveal in 2010. Raiden is still the game’s protagonist and he is still slicing his foes into fun size, snack packs.

EGM’s TAKE: This game was already on the must watch list, but with Platinum Games taking the reins, Metal Gear: Rising just shot to the must find out every morsel of information every waking moment of our lives list. Very. Exclusive. While Raiden’s personality is still one that only Kristen Stewart could love, this reboot trailer hit all the right notes to get us excited for what’s in store in the Metal Gear world.
