Microsoft Files Complaints Over Fake Halo 4 Domain

THE BUZZ: David Ellis of 343 Industries, the team behind the upcoming Halo 4, warned his fans over Twitter about a fraudulent domain claiming to be a site for Halo 4′s beta operation. Since then, the site Halo4Beta.net has been taken down, but that may not be enough for Microsoft which is taking aggressive action to protect its IP. The Software behemoth officially filed a complaint with National Arbitration Forum in order to have domain Halo4Beta.net absorbed into their domain pool. No official word on if or when a Halo 4 beta will begin.

EGM’s TAKE: Okay, we get it. No more fake domains for Microsoft’s flagship franchise. While this was handled pretty well, Microsoft needs to look on the bright side. No one makes fake domains for bad games. When was the last time someone made an X-Men Destiny domain? Never that’s when.
