THE BUZZ: Project Draco, the on-rails shooter from the makers of the esteemed Panzer Dragoon series, finally has an official name. Crimson Dragon will be a Kinect exclusive where players get to take the reins of a … well crimson dragon. Japanese magazine Famitsu was able to get a hands-on with the game and details how players will be able to target multiple enemies with their right hand and unleash devastating attacks with their left hand, while maneuvering their dragon to avoid incoming attacks. Players will also have a spirit gauge that, once filled, can unleash fiery death on the waves of enemies in the player’s path.
No release date has been given, but the game should be coming via XBLA.
EGM’s TAKE: We just keep reminding ourselves that this is coming from Yukio Futatsugi who, after the Panzer Dragoon series and Phanton Dust, will need to try very hard to do any wrong. A lot of games have been regarded as the game to save the Kinect, but none have had the staying power to truly be the game that defines the peripheral. We’re hoping Crimson Dragon can reach those expectations.
