We’ve had leaked details, screenshots, and now the first footage of Star Wars: First Assault in action has appeared online, and it’s pretty damn impressive.

When this game first appeared you were probably thinking that this was just an average FPS with a Star Wars license slapped on top of it, well based on this footage you would be very wrong. After watching the short gameplay clip I genuinely really want to play it, the game looks insane.

There’s Stormtroopers parachuting in, blaster fire all over the place, heavy cannons destroying everything, and blaster sound effects that could make any heart race. Of course the animations look a little dicey at times and there are some missing art assets, but that’s to be expected from early footage.

Sadly it looks like the downloadable game may never see a release. It was set to come out this spring, but ever since Disney bought the franchise the game has been placed in limbo.
