Video Leaks of Streets of Rage Prototype from Crackdown 2 Developer

At some point, Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian Games put together a pitch video showcasing a few ideas of what the studio could do with a re-imagining of Sega’s beloved Streets of Rage franchise.
Somehow, that video leaked to this internet this week. The leak took Ruffian Games co-founder Gaz Liddon by surprise, but he did something very cool in response: he posted the video below up to YouTube, which is that same pitch video, except this time with audio. (The original leaked video had no sound.)
“What’s the story behind it all? Like a lot of developers we work on a lot of different prototypes, they’re just not usually shown in public,” Liddon wrote in the video’s notes. “In this case an older version of the same video was leaked last week which came as a bit of a surprise if I’m honest. As it had no sound I thought there wouldn’t be any harm sharing a version with audio.
“Beyond that,” he concludes, “there’s not a lot more I can say unfortunately
”
On videogame message forum NeoGAF, another member of Ruffian Games made it clear that “what you can see was 6-8 weeks work by a small pitching team.”
