A Petition to End Region-Locking

Region-locking has plagued gamers for a very long time. For those who don’t know, region-locking is the reason why a Japanese Wii game can’t be played on an American Wii, or the other way around. It’s the reason why countries can have exclusive games. Nintendo portables were famous for being free of its clutches, until the advent of the DSi and later, the 3DS, both of which use region-locking (Note: the DSi only had locking on DSi-exclusive features such as use of the camera). But fear not, for a petition written by “John H” seeks to hopefully end the use of region-locking on games and other digital media.
