Rejoice and do a celebratory kickflip, pc gamers. Activision has just announced that its the HD remake for its classic skateboarding game Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater will be coming to PC later this summer.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD isn’t just THPS with better graphics; the game will feature new objectives and game modes. And of course this new content is maintaining the outlandish gameplay of the series. A good example of this is the new Big Head Survival mode, where players are burdened with a growing head that can only be stopped by performing tricks. This mode has also been adapted for online play in Big Head Elimination, where the objective is the same but players have to shrink heads faster than their opponents. THPS will of course feature classic game modes such as Trick Attack and Graffiti mode, as well as Hawkman , where players snatch aerial food pellets. It’s nice to see that, even in its old age, THPS is still as madcap as ever.
The XBLA version of THPS HD is already set for July 18th, but there’s no specific date for the PSN and PC versions of the game. They’re expected in a couple weeks, and it looks like they’re worth the wait for fans of the series and people who missed out on them the first time around.
