An SDCC Checklist For The Wonderous World of Aspen Comics

San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner and the crew at Aspen Comics is ready. Read on to find all your Aspen information to include the entirety of their SDCC weekend plans, exclusives, new merchandise and more.

California-based Aspen will have more guests than you can shake a stick at. Meet the likes of Frank Mastromauro, Peter Steigerwald, Vince Hernandez, Mark Roslan, J.T. Krul, David Wohl, Mike DeBalfo, Alex Konat, Joe Benitez, Beth Sotelo, Tony Parker, Nei Ruffino, Oliver Nome, Micah Gunnell, David Schwartz, Jonathan Marks, Brett Smith, and more. Stop by their booth to find out more upon your arrival to the convention.

The Official Aspen Comics Panel will take place on Friday at noon in Room 9. This event will feature the entire Aspen team and several announcements will be taking place. Announcements will include several all-new properties for 2012 and a detailing of the plans for Aspen’s tenth anniversary celebration. Also, the creators will reveal never-before-seen art along with an intimate Q&A. All Aspen Comics Panel attendees will receive a free gift.

The excitement doesn’t stop there. For the first time ever, Aspen will be offering highly-limited, hand-numbered “Aspen Century Edition” exclusive books on a per-daily basis throughout each of the five days of SDCC. These will be limited to only 100 copies in existence. They will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis with only one copy per customer. An extremely limited amount will be made available on AspenStore.com. There is a high anticipation of a sell out when it comes to these books. If you want to acquire one, make sure you arrive early to Aspen’s booth.The following titles will be offered:

  • 7/11 Wednesday Preview Night: Fathom #6 – J. Scott Campbell Aspen SDCC Century Edition
  • 7/12 Thursday: Soulfire #1 – Mike DeBalfo Aspen SDCC Century Edition
  • 7/13 Friday: Executive Assistant: Assassins #1 – Elizabeth Torque Aspen SDCC Century Edition
  • 7/14 Saturday: Soulfire: Grace #1 – Giuseppe Cafaro Aspen SDCC Century Edition
  • 7/15: Sunday: Fathom: Kiani #3 – Talent Caldwell Aspen SDCC Century Edition
Aspen will be bringing the largest assortment of new 2012 SDCC convention exclusives than ever before seen. This list includes the following:
  • Idolized #O
  • Executive Assistant: Assassins #1
  • Homecoming #1
  • Soulfire Volume Four #1
  • all of Aspen’s weekly Soulfire event “The Search of the Light” Books - Soulfire Hope #1, Soulfire Despair #1, Soulfire Faith #1, Soulfire Power #1, Soulfire Grace #1
  • Charismagic #6
Coming back in a third installment is the incredibly popular Michael Turner Sketchbook. This release will feature new and famed Turner art, sketches and more, but will be limited to just 1000 copies.  Another item that Aspen is renowned for are the beautiful prints from its artists. A new line is to be released featuring some of Aspen’s most popular covers to include Fathom, Soulfire, Lady Mechanika, Executive Assistant Iris, and more.
