Anonymous States PSN Hacked…Again. (Update: Confirmed Fake by Sony)

Anonymous’ Twitter has posted that they have hacked Sony’s PSN again, this time obtaining over 50 gigs of email accounts and passwords. The Anonymous hacker states that there are over 10 million accounts taken and at risk, and from perusing the list linked by Anonymous (a small amount of the stated accounts) the email addresses on file are encrypted and appear to come from Europe, but this is just a small amount of what has been claimed to have been taken. For your own safety, now is a wonderful time to change your PSN login credentials in case of further problems.

Sony has not made any statements yet regarding the hack. If this is a legitimate hack, Sony is required by law to admit so. [UPDATE: Shane Bettenhausen, business developer at Sony, has stated on Twitter that the hack is totally fake - however, this Tweet has been deleted, mostly likely removed pending an official Sony announcement. Sony has now tweeted via their official Twitter page stating the hack was a hoax.]

Further inspection of the pastebin posted shows the data as coming from another pastebin back in March, so there is a strong possibility that Anonymous did not breach PSN.
