Another World Gets Out Of This World 20th Anniversary Steam Release

Another World, known to those in the US as Out Of This World, has hit Steam in a 20th Anniversary Edition form for a mere $10. The 20th anniversary of the game was actually two years ago, but getting your paws on a piece of gaming history for just a Hamilton is a real steal. The original game’s creator, Eric Chahi, worked together with French company, DotEmu, for this special edition.

This game was a marvel of technology when it was released back in 1991. It was one of the first ‘cinematic platformers’ , and also used new 3D art techniques. Personally, I think the game has aged well, and it looks fantastic for a game with over two decades behind it.

You play as Lester Knight Chaykin, a young physicist who just accidentally warped himself into another dimension. The goal, pretty much, is to survive. Anything beyond that is just part of the adventure. The plot is vague, as that there’s no exposition, nor is there any dialogue. I think, in a way, that’s what makes this game age so well. It tells a simple story that needs no particular era to exist within.

You can grab a copy right now on Steam!

Bryan Todd [aka DieselBT] -- This is where I'm supposed to say something clever about myself. Let's pretend I did, and it conveniently mentions all of my top interests, such as anime, video games, crazy gadgets, electronic music, voice acting, sound editing, and countless other ridiculously fascinating topics. I also like to write stuff about things, which is why I'm here.

...That, and I like your shirt.
