Arctic Combat Launched, Tournament Coming
Posted on December 12, 2012 AT 09:09am

A new military first person shooter has hit Steam and WEBZEN, and it’s free to play. Arctic Combat offers full customization, realistic weaponry and an impressive perks system. Players will travel around the globe with environments that will range from urban to unpopulated wastelands.
World War III has started and players must choose their side; Allied Forces led by the U.S. or Star Alliance which is back by the Russians. WEBZEN has added content to Arctic Combat including a mode where the only weapon allowed is a rocket launcher. There is a new Country Ranking system so you can see how skilled you are against others around the globe.
To celebrate the launch, WEBZEN will be holding the 2nd World Championship – a global tournament that will pit clan vs. clan, then country vs. country, ending in a battle between the best players from North America against Europe’s best. Applications to join the battle will be open starting in December (final date subject to change), and the qualifying round is scheduled to begin early in January 2013. More information on the 2nd World Championship can be found at ac.webzen.com.
“Arctic Combat is a great free-to-play shooter – but it’s also great shooter, period,” said Jihun Lee, head of global publishing. “Arctic Combat delivers a full-featured, fast-paced, skill-based game that looks great and plays even better. We’re thrilled to release it to eager fans in North America and Europe.”
