As always, E3 is proving to be a good time to be a gamer. Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassins Creed III: Liberation, their new handheld Assassins Creed game, will be released on October 30 exclusively for the PlayStation Vita. Liberation is set to include all that gamers expect from the franchise, including combat, free-roaming navigation and a rich story full of intrigue and twists, delivering a true Assassins Creed experience to the PS Vita system.

Gamers will get to play as the series first ever female protagonist, Aveline. A woman of conviction, Aveline is fighting for freedom in 18th-century New Orleans, a city on the brink of a rebellion as the Spanish Empire imposes its new rule.

Players will also get to experience PS Vita-specific controls that make the most of the system’s touchscreen and rear touch pad, cameras and gyroscope. These include distinctive combat, character interaction, deciphering and traversal controls all set to deliver an immersive handheld Assassins Creed experience. Assassins Creed III Liberation will also bring a unique multiplayer experience to the series exclusively tailored for the PS Vita system.

PlayStation fans who pick up both Assassins Creed III Liberation and Assassins Creed III for the PS3 will receive exclusive content, including an in-game version of Connors tomahawk, an exclusive character skin, a multiplayer character, and a complete upgrade of all ammunition pouches.

Assassins Creed III: Liberation will launch October 30th in stores and on the PlayStation Network.
