Ubisoft released some information earlier on one of the new multiplayer modes in Assassin’s Creed 3, titled Wolf Pack. Wolf Pack will set a team of four gamers lose on a map while they hunt down and assassinate 25 hordes of enemies.
Gamers must cooperate with each other in order to slay their targets, with players required to chase down their victims against the clock. You’ll earn bonus points for stealthy or stylish kills. As with previous games in the series, Wolf Pack includes the staple circular HUD to assist you in tracking your targets.
Does it sound similar to horde mode in Gears of War? Yes, but it’s not. Instead of setting up base and traps around a map, a team of four players are running loose on a map and throwing tomahawks or stylishly assassinating targets. The game is fast paced and by that I mean, once one round is done more time is added to the clock and you must go and face more enemies in another round.
In addition, there is no need to silently kill your enemies, unless of course, that’s your preferred killing style. NPCs won’t care if you murder someone in front of them as long as they don’t feel the pointy end of your hidden blade. Just run up, kill who you need to kill, and move on. The game also does a really good job of explaining this with a fictional snippet suggesting the Animus has been marketed as a consumer device for entertaining yourself in historical settings.
Remember, you must coordinate kills with your teammates. Most of the time, you will be attacking a group of people and if a friend runs and assassinates one person then the whole group will scatter leaving you to run after them in a frenzy, therefore, coordinating kills will only help you and your team in the long run.
There will be instances where you will have options to use poison blades, grenades, and the like. No word on if Wolf Pack will make use of prostitutes or thieves but I think it will definitely add a bonus to the overall excitedness of the mode.
Overall, this mode sounds amazing! I love the idea of just hopping in a game with a few friends and taking out NPCs without even having to touch the competitive multiplayer aspect of the game.
Also, Ubisoft released a video showcasing a detailed commentary on the landmarks of Boston and what you are expected to encounter. Ubisoft does the best job in releasing a lot of information about their games but still leaving even more questions than before.
I like diving into hale that’s stationed in a moving cart. That’s something small but new that will add even more, different assassinations. I’m still excited to finally be able to climb trees. How excited are you guys for this game? If I could only play one game this year, it would be Assassin’s Creed 3. Assassin’s Creed 3 is Game of the Year material so be prepared!
