Gamers have vocalized their dismay over the character imbalance in Awesomenauts and the devs have listened. Awesomenauts is getting an update to help correct that imbalance. After analyzing the data, they found that the male characters were greatly overpowered compared to female characters. No one wants that, right?

In addition to the patch being released, two new characters will be added to the line-up…for free.

Meet Derpl Zork. He’s the nephew of Blabl Zork. His uncle is intelligent and it is the president of Zork Industries. Unfortunately, Derpl didn’t inherit any brains at all from his family. He is remarkably stupid.

Next we have Coco Nebulon. She’s the first female Awesomenaut and she’ll knock your socks off with her “psycho-electric” melee abilities. She is going to make those boys work for their win.

The patch will include several other tweaks and improvements. It will be live on PSN and XBLA on July 23, 2012.
