Body Count signs to Sumerian Records

Posted on December 11, 2012 AT 08:06pm

So the Crossover Thrash Metal/Rap Rock band Body Count, famous for the song “Cop Killer” has just released news via frontman Ice-T’s Twitter that they have just inked a deal with “Djent” label Sumerian Records. They are also working on a new album.

According to Ice-T via Twitter:

BodyCount Fans: BodyCount is signing a new record deal and will start production of new LP in January! Get a vest…

FYI: The BodyCount deal is with ‘Sumerian Records’ We’re going in! 2013 BodyCount “Rise!”

Personally, I think this is good news. There’s only one thing that I wish for them other than the best.  Stick to the Crossover Thrash metal sound… PLEASE.  You guys sounded WAY better when you did that and it wouldn’t make sense to do anything “Rap Rock” considering the only bands that do that nowadays aren’t doing so well. You guys deserve to tour with good bands… not some Hollywood Undead style dorks.  Also… heavier production… yes… take advantage of your Djentlemen Lablemates. The only issue I could imagine is a bunch of SumerianCore fans whining about Ice-T being on the same label as Misha Mansoor and Tosin Abasi… but they’ll just have to get over it.

What do you nooblets think?  Say something in the comments section below.
