Do you ever find yourself frustrated with how science is presented in modern science fiction media? I mean, sure, you could make the argument that a lot of the great technological advances and cool gadgets that we’ve seen over the past fifty years have some roots in science fiction. Science fiction is where someone takes their imagination and blends it with some science and comes up with something that is purely fiction, but can be based upon fact. The truth is, while there is a “hard science fiction” movement in literature, there isn’t much when it comes to gaming.
Broken Crown Games is a company looking to change that with their upcoming title, Broken Crown: Escaping Titan. They are looking to take science fact and add it into science fiction to help educate gamers on science but to do so through what is a videogame with all of the features that you’d expect in a videogame. They announced this week that in addition to just the game, they have opened up a forum where they are looking to do some serious educating with a “Science Behind the Sci-Fi” forum which will feature actual scientists sharing their knowledge with the community.
