No Microsoft Store near you? With seven years since launch, chances are you have one of the models. If your original had the infamous “red ring of death”, it could be time to update to the new model S.
If it’s time for a new console, you might want to make the trek to Best Buy and GameStop. Major Nelson has announced that the 4GB Xbox 360 With Kinect bundle for $99 has hit the stores.
It’s an odd concept, to be sure. Naturally, the console isn’t $99 at the end of the day, but it follows the cell phone industry’s general role. An iPhone runs around $199, but you’re required to have a monthly subscription at that price. For a two-year commitment to Xbox Live at $14.99 a month, you can get the console for a total of $458.76.
… you can also just buy the console and 2 years of Xbox Live for $419.97. All these numbers are before taxes.
For some, it may be too much too late, but there’s definitely someone out there who will check out the console.
