Capcom’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD Available in August for PSN and Xbox LIVE Arcade

Posted on July 16, 2012 AT 06:34am

The Dreamcast was perhaps one of the most interesting consoles of all time, coming at an odd time in the life cycles of other consoles and packed with features that were both ahead of its time and not able to compete with the consoles looming over the horizon. This created an atmosphere perfect for a truly unique library of titles for the system, from arcade hits to experimental games and even a few blockbusters. Capcom’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting game would probably fit into the realm of experimental as well as arcade and none-the-less made a distinct impression on gamers.

The Dreamcast version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure was a big hit with fans at the time. Even in a sea of acclaimed arcade fighters, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure stood out on its own. It had its own unique style and gameplay as well as featured online play, which was relatively new for most console fighters in 1999. If you were a fan of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and miss the ability to go toe-to-toe with other players online, you are in luck, as today Capcom announced that coming in August will be JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. There are a ton of features planned, including a full HD remake of the game. Capcom understands that there are purists out there, as well, and will offer the ability to play it in SD. On top of all of that, the matchmaking system will be completely overhauled.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. will be available starting on August 21st on PSN for $19.99 and on August 22nd on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 1600 Microsoft Points.
