“Carmageddon” Racing Towards iOS App Store Next Week
Posted on October 3, 2012 AT 12:52pm

Carmageddon is a classic game, and most likely the modern start of vehicular manslaughter prevalent (or discovered) in titles like Grand Theft Auto or Saint’s Row. Originally released in 1997, it never really reached into the 2000s. Other games combined the racing gameplay with other elements, such as action/adventure games.
Having skipped a decade, the title has returned, powered by a Kickstarter campaign. Carmageddon: Reincarnation is in production for Steam, but the iOS port of the original is close to hitting the App Store shelves: it should hit next week, and as promised, it’ll be free for a day until it raises to $1.99.
The title has had modern updates to make it socially integrated and touchscreen compatible. An Android version is on it’s way, but will take a bit more time.
