Chew Spin-Off Secret Agent Poyo Gets Second Printing
Posted on July 25, 2012 AT 04:46pm
Eisner-winning comic book Chew, by John Layman and Rob Guillory is an incredibly popular book, and it seems the one-shot spin-off of the series, Chew: Secret Agent Poyo is no different. The story about a cybernetic, kung-fu fighting rooster was one of the more popular San Diego Comic Con exclusives for Image Comics, and because of the popularity, the book will be getting a second printing.
The twenty-two page comic also features ten pinups by some of the best independent artists in the industry, including Jim Mahfood, Nick Pitarra, and Ben Templesmith. The impact of this book cannot be denied, at least according to writer John Layman.
“Secret Agent Poyo is the most important thing to happen to comics in the last three hundred and fifty years, and it’s clear that the public recognizes it for the towering literary achievement that it is.”
Layman may have a point as Secret Agent Poyo fights his way back into stores on August 29th.
