Call of Duty Elite Service Free with Black Ops II
Posted on October 15, 2012 AT 06:03pm
Activision has decided to change their payment policies for Call of Duty Elite for the better. Starting with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, all Elite services for the new game will be free. All the stat tracking goodness that came with the service when it launched with Modern Warfare 3 will be free for the new game and many of the continuing services involving player stat tracking will be free for MW3 as well. With the content season coming to a close for Modern Warfare 3 many of the clan tracking features will be turned off and there will be no option to turn them back on with any kind of premium membership.
Many of the services that fans of the Elite service have come to know are still there and many are being upgraded with a more social network based feel to them. The entire clan stat tracking service now lets you find clans that are evenly matched as well as clans that your friends are in. This could bring some seriously good rivalries to the game. Stat tracking is also in the ever popular zombie mode, letting you track how many kills you have across all your play time and more.
One of the more interesting features is the new Pick 10 system. This allows you to find the load out of any player that’s killed you, pick their load out and instantly load it into one of your custom load out slots while away from the game. The integration with online features, tablets, smart phones and more are making this a service that hard core players really should take advantage of, and now with the price tag of free, there’s no excuse to track your stats and maintain a high level of performance in the game.
