Cult Hit ‘Deadly Premonition’ Getting Director’s Cut

Posted on October 16, 2012 AT 10:30am

A true cult hit, Deadly Premonition was that game that should not have been as popular as it was. The acting over overly dramatic and the gameplay mediocre but for some odd reason those were just a couple of reasons why the game was so fun to play. Well fans, it is getting a little makeover. Rising Star is going to release a Director’s Cut version of Deadly Premonition.

Among the usual changes like updated HD graphics and a reworked control system, there will be new content added to the game and a new scenario written by Hidetaka Suehiro. You will be playing as special agent Francis York Morgan and are investigating the murder of a young lady. You will find yourself in a quaint town full of the supernatural. You need to solve the mystery of the Red Seed Murders and manage to keep yourself alive while you do it.

“Love it or hate it,  Deadly Premonition has been a phenomenon; ‘cult’ does not begin to do its success justice,” said Martin Defries, president of Rising Star Games. “With the enhancements Swery and his team are making to this new PS3™ version, I am delighted to confirm Rising Star Games’ involvement with this fantastic game that should engage fans new and old alike.”

“I’m very happy Rising Star Games gave me the chance to work on  Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut,” said Hidetaka ‘Swery’ Suehiro, Director of Deadly Premonition. “It’s been a while since  Deadly Premonition was released, but I’m still receiving so many messages of support from fans around the world. I’m writing some exciting new scenarios and adding some new features. All will be revealed over the coming months and I’m confident I can deliver an unforgettable experience for you all.”

Look for Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut in early 2013, exclusively on the Playstation 3.
