Dark Horse Comics Announces The Return Of The Black Beetle!
Posted on August 28, 2012 AT 03:46pm
Francesco Frankavilla, the 2012 Eisner Winner for best cover artist, is bringing back a favorite in the comics industry with the announcement of two new titles for pulp crime hero, The Black Beetle! While this is a brand new creator-owned title, The Black Beetle has been around before, gracing the pages of the legendary Dark Horse Presents in prior installments.
In fact, the first issue, Black Beetle #0, will collect the three stories that made up Night Shift from Dark Horse Presents into one exciting issue, with the installment serving as a precursor to the character for unfamiliar fans. The Colt City Natural History Museum has gotten a new artifact called the Hollow Lizard, and Hitler himself is after it, sending his Werewolf Korps to obtain it. That is, if they can get past Colt City’s protector, The Black Beetle!
Following Night Shift, The Beetle will return with a miniseries called No Way Out, which features a suspicious explosion that kills nearly every member of organized crime in Colt City. Sounds like a good thing, but this mysterious killer could be after more than just taking out the trash of Colt City.
Follow the pulpy goodness of The Black Beetle, with Black Beetle #0 releasing on December 19th, and No Way Out following up shortly after in January, only from Dark Horse Comics.
