Dark Horse Is Bringing Some Good Luck To San Diego Comic-Con
Posted on June 28, 2012 AT 08:14pm
Dark Horse had an interesting announcement today, releasing plans to bring back the iconic toy the “Good Luck Troll”. These collectible little guys have been popular for nearly half a century, going on and off as a top seller throughout the history of the toy.
Created by Thomas Dam, a Danish fisherman and woodcutter, the toy has been there through the ages. Dark Horse has joined up with the owner of the rights to Dam’s work, Dam Things. The toys will be a part of Dark Horse’s vinyl toy line, with variations created by the company to add some collectible value. To promote it, Dark Horse, starting July 25th, will be selling a “mystery box” of the toy, containing fifteen different versions of the Trolls, including special treatments such as metallic and glow-in-the-dark.
Also, as a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, Dark Horse is releasing a limited-edition version of the toy, a green-bodied Troll with white hair and black-light sensitivity. There will only be 1,500 released.
