Bryan and Mary Talbot have produced a very special graphic memoir, with their bookDotter Of Her Fathers Eyes, which was just named “One Of The best Books Of 2012″ by Publisher’s Weekly.
A story that follows two very different narratives, the book shows the lives of Lucia, daughter of James Joyce, and Mary Talbot herself, who is the daughter of Joycean scholar James S. Atherton. Combining the social issues of the time with a visual style that Bryan Talbot has become known for, the story shows two very different people, combined in a way that is unique all on its own. Told in both monochromatic and colored styles, this book is a heart-wrenching and entertaining.
The book has received major praise for its take on gender politics, including being listed through Publisher’s Weekly, and is available now through Dark Horse Comics.
