Dead Island Getting a Game of the Year Edition
Posted on May 22, 2012 AT 09:37am
Did you trade in your copy of Dead Island and now you’re itching to get back into the world of zombies, witnessing bloody massacres, and four player co-op? Then you’re in luck! Deep Silver just announced that they will be releasing a Game of the Year edition of Dead Island later this summer. Originally released in September of 2011, Dead Island quickly rose to the top of the zombie craze, winning multiple awards including Game of the Year and Editor’s Choice awards.
As with most other Game of the Year editions, this one will have the original game along with DLC. One of the DLC is Ryder White’s campaign. Gamers will play as Ryder White, the game’s antagonist and you will learn, from his point of view, his motivations and why he did what he had to do. The DLC will add another several hours of gameplay along with two blueprints and weapons to continually expand your bountiful arsenal.
The second DLC is The Bloodbath Arena which gives gamers four different arenas to go head to head with some friends. Similar to Horde mode in Gears of War, players are pitted against wave after wave of zombies. What makes this mode even better? All the experience points and loot you get in the arena can easily be transferred to the main game.
Dead Island: Game of the Year edition will be released on June 26th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC for $29.99
