Ross McGrath of the Playstation Store Team announced today another addition to the growing number of free games available to subscribers of Playstation Plus. The sci-fi horror title Dead Space 2 from Visceral Games and EA will be available for free for all Playstation Plus subscribers from August 1st until September 5th.

Sony are continuing to add value to their online subscription service with another great title. If you haven’t had the chance to delve into Isaac’s space nightmare yet, now is your chance. Dead Space 2 is a superb sequel to a game that arguably took the helm of the survival genre after the Resident Evil franchise departed to a more action oriented style of game with Resident Evil 5. It offers players superb third-person action, a tense atmosphere with incredible lighting and sound and arguably the best in-game HUD of any game.

Dead Space 2 was originally released on January 25th, 2011 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
