The newest installment of the Sacred franchise has been announced, with the recent news that Deep Silver and Southend Interactive’s Sacred Citadel will be coming to the Playstation 3 (digital download through the Playstation Network) and Xbox 360 (through Xbox Live Arcade). This side-scrolling action game is a standalone title in the franchise, combining arcade-style action with RPG elements and collectibles.

With three playable classes (the Safiri Warrior, the Ancarian Ranger and the Khukuri Shaman) and an engrossing story featuring a battle between three warriors and the Grimmocks, and modified Orcs that are waging war against the Seraphim. The game will feature a drop-in/drop-out co-op mode for up to three players in the multi-player mode, allowing friends to team up to take down their foes.
