Dishonored Dev Diary – Immersion

By

Arkane Studios has released another video in their Dev Diary series for Dishonored. This one will take players behind the scenes at how voices can make characters real and how one goes about making a  world that does not actually exist, believable.

Game development is not for the faint of heart and worlds must be created frame by frame, piece by piece. Attention to the smallest details is extremely important because the environment can make or break a created world. Even something as simple as music can have a dramatic impact on the feel of a game and the impression it gives the player. Voices must be well matched with the characters, or all will be lost. Can you imagine trying to play as Kratos if he was voiced by Mike Tyson? It just wouldn’t have the same impact.

Dishonored will be released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC on October 9, 2012.
