EA Games’s Founder, Trip Hawkins, has founded a new educational games firm, If You Can Company. The new firm employs Ben Geliher, the former lead producer at Mind Candy on Moshi Monsters. Among the firm’s flagship projects is a monster-catching style of RPG that claims to rival that of Nintendo’s cult-favorite Pokemon franchise.
Gelhiher has stated that, “The game will be a top down RPG for kids, so very stylized in its look and feel. Think Pokémon, Animal Crossing or The Legend of Zelda for an idea of what would be expected.”
Hawkins has also confirmed that the firm is based out of London, UK. [Source: MCVUK]
