EA’s Origin Service Now Available for Macs
Posted on February 8, 2013 AT 12:25pm
EA announced today that its popular download service, Origin is now available to Mac users. The Mac version includes all the same features from the original PC version, including cloud storage saving, social connections via friend lists and more.
Origin will also now offer additional benefits to users who use both platforms, allowing to purchase duel-platform games once, and then be able to install it on both a PC and a Mac.
“Our vision with Origin is to connect your gaming universe online, and today we’re taking a major step in expanding our service to reach Mac-based gamers worldwide,” said Michael Blank, Vice President of Production for Origin at EA. “In delivering great game content, connecting the Origin service across PC, Mac and iOS devices, and offering great value to gamers with dual-platform play on select EA titles, Origin is making it easier than ever before for gamers to connect and play anytime, anywhere.”
Origin for Mac will launch with such titles as Dragon Age 2, LEGO Harry Potter, Batman: Arkham City, The Sims 3 and more. Furthermore, to celebrate a decade of Sims, players can purchase The Sims 3 plus many expansion packs all for just $10 on Origin for Mac.
For the best experience, Origin for Mac users should be running OS X 10.6.8 or newer with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or better.
