Edge Of Space Promises Sandbox, Science, Laser Sharks, Handsome Crabs
Posted on September 13, 2012 AT 06:05pm
It’s undeniable: Sandbox-style survival games are enormously popular right now. However, Edge of Space, brought to us by Handyman Studios and Reverb Publishing, promises to give us the sandbox, survival, and something nobody else has so far: Sharks with frickin’ lasers attached to their heads. They also promise handsome, gentlemanly space crabs and a wide variety of other off-the-wall space creatures.
From the press release:
As one of the few, proud, and lucky men and women of ArkCo, players must go where no one has wanted to go or was technically “meant” to go. After an indeterminate time in cryo-sleep, they awake to find themselves in a lonely, Bermuda Triangle-like area in the depths of space. So get ready to explore, scavenge, build, survive, and fight rocket-powered, cybernetically-enhanced laser sharks.
There’s even a short trailer showing off some of these features… Sadly, no laser sharks appear in the video.
The game has been submitted to Steam Greenlight, so if you like what you’ve seen, pop over and give them a vote! I’ve already upvoted it myself, and it’s gotten 3% of the votes it needs since it was posted at the end of August. Go and upvote… like a sir crab.
Edge of Space is due to be released in mid-to-late October.
