Embrace Your Freedom and Rise with the New Assassin’s Creed Trailer
Posted on July 4, 2012 AT 03:25pm
Ubisoft decided to wish everyone a happy 4th of July Assassin’s Creed style.

Their new live-action trailer shows intense, slow motion scenes of various Americans resisting oppression and explaining what freedom means to them in a voice-over. It’s quite dramatic, and the Peter Gabriel cover of ‘My Body is a Cage’ playing in the background really reinforces the mood. It shows what the revolution was truly about: Freedom from an oppressive empire. Of course, it doesn’t show the bits about secret societies, assassin warriors and time travel but then I guess that would have been a bit more complicated. Here’s the trailer.
Some people are saying it plays up a one-sided, patriotic angle of the game and strays from the socially complex narrative that we’ve grown accustomed to in Assassins Creed games. Let us know what you think about it in the comments section below.
