Expect a Valve Hardware Beta Next Year
Posted on September 19, 2012 AT 09:31am

Amidst a strange swirling cloud of rumors about what Valve’s fledgling Hardware Division is working on, it seems like there might be something from that team going into beta testing as early as next year. Jeri Ellsworth, of Valve’s Hardware Division, recently spoke with Engadget about how excited she and her team are about what they are working on, how revolutionary it will be and how it will help gamers to more comfortably play games on Steam in a living room setting.
Of course, all of that comes without actually mentioning what it is that they are working on. What is clear is that her team is working closely with the team responsible for Steam’s recently beta’d “Big Picture Mode” in making Steam a force to be reckoned with on a larger screen, away from your most likely uncomfortable computer chair and your hopefully comfortable couch. If this means a controller, a new kind of keyboard or even the rumored ‘Steam Box’ is still up in the air, but what we did learn from this interview is that Ellsworth expects what her team is working on to be in beta by next year.
