There is a new kid on the block in the world of Facebook games and it is worth checking out. The Grinns Tale is a gothic, fantasy RPG from Nexon Korea with a steam punk flavor.
You are an adventurer, no I won’t make an arrow to the knee joke, and you meet a mysterious girl. She tells you to do something and for some odd reason you are compelled to do it. Must be those experience points and supplies you are rewarded with.
Now it’s your job to upgrade the Hero’s Monument, explore the mysterious tower defeating any monsters along the way, and build up a town.
Now this might all sound like a typical Facebook game but it’s not really. The Grinns Tale thumbs its nose at the typical Facebook game genre. It has elements that make it a side-scrolling, RPG and you do not have to get your friends to play with you. Now that’s really novel for a Facebook game.
The graphics are Gothic-cartoon meet steam punk and the controls are pretty basic. Be careful if you decide to check it out, it’s mildly addictive.
