Due out early in 2013, Final Fantasy XVI is bringing back a skill based leveling system reminiscent of Final Fantasy II.

The nations of Eorzea waged war against each other until the Garlean Empire appeared from somewhere in the east and destroyed the mighty Ala Mhigo city-state. Help to roust the invaders never came from the Empire and now there is a state of peace in the land. With nothing to do, mercenaries and soldiers are banding together to become “adventurers.”
