Future Mass Effect 3 DLC Will Focus on Shepard

BioWare does plan on releasing single player DLC and they have confirmed that it will indeed follow Shepard. Unfortunately when Mike Gamble was talking to Joystiq about the DLC, he did not mention any details on any DLC that they might currently have in the works.

Here’s what Mike Gamble did have to say about the DLC, “We want to do single-player DLC. We want to do single-player, maybe more multiplayer if people still play it.”

That single-player DLC, whatever it is, will still be about Shepard, not someone else in the universe. “Mass Effect 3 is Shepard’s story,” said Gamble, “so the single-player DLC for Mass Effect 3 will probably focus around Shepard.”

I think DLC that will focus on Shepard will be a good thing for fans of the Mass Effect series. Even with the extended endings, fans were still yakking it up about how terrible the ending remains to be.

Spoilers Ahead!!

Personally, I think Shepard is dead and will continue to be dead. If the DLC confirms that he’s alive then so be it, I will still enjoy Mass Effect as much as I did before, but BioWare confirmed in the early stages of the Mass Effect series that they only planned to make this a three part game. Though recently, right before Mass Effect 3 released into the grubby hands of fans, BioWare announced that they would be continuing the Mass Effect universe but no include Shepard which to me, hinted at Shepard being killed.

So what do the avid fans think? Do you want to see some single player DLC or have you given up on the series altogether?
